According to the 2004-2005 Occupational Outlook Handbook, employment of psychologists is expected to grow faster than average due to an increased demand for psychological services in schools, hospitals, social service agencies, mental health centers, substance abuse treatment clinics, consulting firms, and private companies.
Students with a doctoral degree have found professional positions as university faculty, as psychologists in university counseling and career centers, schools, rehabilitation facilities, organizations, and agencies, as student services administrators, as agency administrators, as organizational consultants and trainers, as researchers, evaluators and planners of human service programs, and as private practitioners. Graduates of the Combined Doctoral program are eligible to become licensed psychologists in Florida.
