Who we are
The Human Services Center (HSC; Clinic) is a training and service facility operated by the Psychological Services in Education (PSE) Program at Florida State University. Graduate students in mental health counseling and doctoral students in the combined program in counseling psychology and school psychology provide counseling services as part of a mental health practicum experience in the HSC clinic. Supervision is provided by the practicum instructor and an assigned advanced doctoral student. The Mental Health Counseling program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and the Combined Program in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
Dr. Michael Railey is responsible for the operation of the clinic and establishes operational policies and procedures. In conjunction with the PSE faculty, the director establishes training goals for practicum students.
