Measurement and Statistics Faculty
At present there are four full-time faculty positions associated with the program. Measurement and Statistics faculty hold doctoral degrees from leading institutions throughout the United States. Our faculty are committed to quality teaching and mentoring, and have active research programs in the areas of teacher testing, large-scale assessment, meta-analysis and psychometrics, as well as substantive interests in educational issues such as teacher certification, accommodations for students with special needs, and gender differences in educational achievement.
The faculty contribute to professional journals as editors, authors, and reviewers, and have written or contributed to a number of significant books. Faculty members provide consultation in the U.S. and abroad to major testing organizations, states, school districts and post-secondary institutions, and serve as officers of international, national and regional research associations.
In addition, faculty and students interact in a variety of contexts, both professional and social. New students meet faculty and more advanced students in the M&S program orientation that occurs each fall. This is followed by the bi-weekly M&S Colloquium series, as well as social gatherings such as a Fall Potluck and later on the Halloween Party, as well as other gatherings. These gatherings give students the opportunity to spend time with each other and the faculty on a more personal level, as well as to eat great food, since M&S students hail from many countries with tasty cuisines that are always present at the potluck dinners!
