Course of Study | Admissions | Financial Aid
The doctoral program in Learning and Cognition, established in 1970, is sponsored and administered by the Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems (College of Education) at Florida State University. Our program is designed to train research-oriented doctoral students who are conversant with current theory and research, and who are competent in methodological and statistical research skills. Students who complete their doctorates in our program become university faculty or independent researchers in military, governmental, or private industry settings. We offer a unique instructional blend of theoretical perspectives and professional training, and we train students to address researchable problems with direct implications for present and future instruction in the classroom and workplace. Our program draws on the internationally recognized resources of the Department of Educational Research, the College of Education, and Florida State University, designated a Research I University by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
